Who Are The Best People To Talk To About Your MLM?

Do you ever get frustrated at how long it takes to explain your MLM business to a newbie?

You have to give them the brochure, some samples, send them to your website, invite them to a meeting (and hope they show up), put them on 3-way calls, etc.---

And after all that, they fail anyway.

Is it just me, or is that disappointing?

We spend so much time talking to a newbie that there's no time left for them to do anything.

If you're talking to people that don't already know MLM, you have to give 'WAY too much information: .
  • What MLM means.
  • How it works.
  • Why it's a good idea.
  • Why they should do it.
  • What their goals and dreams are.
  • What it'll take to reach them.
  • Why you, your company, and products are the way to get there.
  • Etc., etc., etc.
People who are already in MLM already know these things. They just want to do it in a way that makes them money. And they're scared or embarrassed about all the times they've failed so far. They want simple, honest answers, so they can go on and make some real money.

Easiest Way To Introduce Your MLM Business

You have a GREAT opportunity to share, that will make people happy and make them money at the same time.

The trouble is, most of them will never know it, because they reject you and close their minds before you can open your mouth. And that costs BOTH of you.

But it's not your fault, and even better, there's something you can do about it.

See, the reason they reject you is that they don't know what they don't know.

Because if they knew, like you, they'd join right away, wouldn't they? They couldn't wait to join.

So let's just get on the same page... so they can see what you see. Wouldn't that be great?

We'll make it real simple. (There's lots of psychological reasons why this works, and if you really want to know, I'll tell you. But for right now, I'll just show you how it works, OK?)

OK. Here's what you say to someone... and it works just like this almost EVERY TIME:

YOU: “Wow, this economy sure is tough.”
THEM: “You can say that again.”
YOU: “And it'll probably get worse before it gets better.”
THEM: “But what are we gonna do?”
YOU: “Well, if I wasn't doing what I'm doing, I don't know WHAT I'd do.”
THEM: “What are you doing?”

Try this, and you'll see that it works almost every time.

It probably won't go word for word, but it'll be pretty close. And what's most important is IT'LL WORK.

And the reason it works is that you just made several automatic psychological connections in that little conversation.

ALL of the masters of communication know this, and so do those of us who are good at getting people to do what we want them to do.

So if you want to get people to look at your opportunity, and make an informed decision on whether or not they want to join, then just simply have this little conversation with them FIRST.

Then, when they (very naturally) ask you what you're doing, you can (very naturally) show them your THIRD PARTY TOOL, which will do the explaining for you.

How To Use Free MLM Recruiting Tools

Most people make the mistake of showing or explaining their opportunity, which is one of the least effective things you can ever do... because most people can't do it, it won't duplicate, and it'll cause you to fail. So the less explaining and demonstrating you do, the better.

Instead, you MUST have effective, “third-party” tools to do the explaining and demonstrating for you.
Most companies know this, so they provide them when you sign up.

You may have a website, a DVD, or some visual and automatic tool that does the demonstration and explanation FOR you. And it's important that it be visual, because, as they say, a picture is worth 1,000 words.

So a DVD or a website with a video works a lot better than, say, a conference call, or a three-way call with your upline (which people HATE, by the way).

And the shorter the presentation is, the better. It should be just as long as it has to be to get the point across. Music, slick production values, and long videos just compete for people's already short attention spans. Most people will quit watching long, flashy videos 'way before the point gets across. So the presentation should be just as long as it needs to be... and no longer.

And the reason why a visual and automatic tool works is that it's easy to duplicate, because everybody can use it. Just press “play”.

How To Use Facebook As A Free MLM Recruiting Source

Facebook is a great place to find prospects for your business. And it's free.

But most people don't know that you can lose your Facebook account and all your friends if you don't use it right.

I talk to people every day that are setting off the Facebook alarm, and they don't even realize they're doing it. And the danger is that if you're doing it, you can get your account shut down and lose all your contacts, even if you didn't mean to. And here's the reason:

You are allowed to meet people on Facebook.
And you are allowed to market to them if you buy an ad or have their permission. (Now Mark Zuckerberg would rather you buy an ad, because he makes money when you do that.) But getting people's permission to market to them is easier and cheaper to get, if you know how, because that's what I do. I NEVER send people anything about my MLM business, ever... not even the name... until they ask me and they're almost ready to join.

Because what you MUST NOT do on Facebook is use it as a free advertising source, posting your links everywhere, or inviting people to opportunity groups or events, and emailing people about your business when they didn't ask about it. So if people know what MLM you're in, and they didn't ask you and they're not ready to join... you're talking too much! Because that's the OLD way of doing MLM, and it does not work anymore!

Don't even put a link to your business in your profile, even though you can. Instead, do a Google search on yourself, and put a link to that in your profile, because that tells people more about you and works much, much better than a link to your company or your blog or whatever.

Think about it this way:

Advertising does not work for MLM companies. Because if it did, the companies would just do it, and they wouldn't need us. But why do they need us? Well, it's because we have relationships and connections to people, so we can show and explain the products in a way that advertising can't do. But we must have that relationship first, in order to do that. So Facebook is, first of all, a way to build relationships, not sell products.

So if you didn't sponsor anyone into your business last week, or last month, no matter what you said or did to people on Facebook and everywhere else, that is the reason--- too much selling, not enough relationships.

So, let's wrap this up. There are two kinds of people running around on Facebook:

1) Those who run through there like Jerry Lewis with a scalpel, until they get blocked or can't add any more friends, and then lose their account and they don't know why. And on top of that, they never sponsor anyone.

2) But there are a few of us who quietly add people to our business all the time, behind the scenes, and under the Facebook radar, with no rejection or embarrassment from anybody. This is the new way do MLM, and this works much better today than the old ways. So please forget about the “numbers game”, and “putting your business out there” or anything like that.

I know you're on a limited budget, and I know you're just trying to share this great thing you're in. And Facebook is the perfect place to do that, because there are so many people there, and it doesn't cost you anything.

But if people know what MLM business you're in, but they didn't ask you... they are rejecting you, even if you don't feel rejected at the time. Because even though you're not around to see, or hear, or feel that rejection, it's happening anyway, with just a few clicks of a mouse.

So if you can't add any more people, even though you're under your limit of 5,000 friends, it's because you've set off the Facebook alarm, or it could be that people have reported you (And to report you, all they have to do is click next to whatever you've posted. There's also a link in the bottom left-hand corner of your profile. They can click there and report you or block you, and GIVE A REASON.).

So if you want to market yourself on Facebook the easy way, and NOT get busted, just get out of that "numbers game, got to put it out there" mentality. People don't want to be your "sales object". They want you to show them some feelings and respect, and treat them like a real person.

It'll take longer to do that, but it'll be much easier for you, and in the long run, you'll sponsor more people.

How To Get Your First MLM Signup In 24 Hours Or Less

...And I'm not counting "yourself".

I mean a real, new, living, breathing, paying CUSTOMER. So next week (or next month, whenever your company pays)... you can say:

"LOOK, HONEY. MY FIRST COMMISSION CHECK!"

Here's how to do it, step by step---
  • Think of somone who OWES you. They can owe you money, or just a favor--- either way, heres a chance to COLLECT.
  • (Key point) It must be somebody who HAS MONEY. At least enough to make the purchase you want them to.
  • (Other key point) They must have their own address. It cannot be somebody who already lives with you. Because that's just a cop-out.
  • Whatever you offer them must be something they already spend money on. (Doesn't matter what it is.)
  • You must have it available at a LOWER PRICE.
  • So ask them, "Hey, will you do me a favor?"
  • (They owe you. So they'll say "Yes", or at least "What?")
  • If they say "no", say, "Remember, YOU OWE ME."
  • If they're a decent human being, they'll be EAGER to help you. So now it's time for you to make that easy.
  • Say, "It's not gonna cost you anything. It'll probably SAVE you some money."
  • (No way they can say no to this. Their mind is now open, and their guard is now down. Now you can basically just "close" the sale.)
  • Say, "You know that (whatever you're selling) that you're paying for all the time? I just went into the (name of product) business. So if you'll just go to my website and buy it from me, you can save some money and I'll make a commission. Would you mind?"
  • Most likely, they won't mind. Especially if you're saving them money!
If this strategy won't work with your business, that may be a sign that your business is too difficult. Even if YOU can do it, most of the people you sign up will have a difficult time.

Former MLM Company Owner Reveals Inside Secrets

I owned and ran an MLM company in 2004-2005. It took that experience to open my eyes about a lot of things in MLM.

For example, these 5 things will make it SIMPLE to build an MLM downline.
And these things are easy to remember, because they all start with the letter "P":

PRODUCT
  • Sell something that LOTS of people already like. That's much easier than trying to create a market for something they don't like or have never heard of.
  • So look for something that people already LIKE and WANT.
PRICE
  • Ideally, offer people something they LIKE and WANT, and show them how to BUY it at a BARGAIN PRICE. That way, you never have to deal with the objection of, "It's too expensive".
PAY PLAN
  • Most people are so dazed and confused about their "pay plan" that they can't understand it or explain it to others. The good news is that there is only ONE PAY PLAN in MLM.
  • The "plan" is to pay YOU 5%-10% of all the money "attached" to you.
  • Your company's "plan" will "cut off" for you at some point. There may be sales in your organization beyond that point, you just don't get paid on them (according to the "plan").
  • This can make it LOOK like you're making a higher percentage than you really are. DO NOT BE FOOLED.
  • You ARE being paid 5%-10% of all the dollars connected to you... no matter how many "levels" or "generations" there are.
  • If you could see ALL the sales below you, whether the company says they're in your "downline" or not... you would see that YOUR check is about 5%-10% of ALL that money.
  • And that's in actual DOLLARS, not "points" or "Bonus Volume".
  • It can't be much more than 10% unless the company lowers what it costs them to make the product, or raises the selling price. Most companies just raise the selling price, and that's why MLM products are usually expensive.
  • The best situation for you is one where the product is sold at a bargain price and YOU make your 5%-10%.
(I only know this because I owned and operated an MLM company. I have NEVER met a distributor that knew this, or a company owner who would tell me.)

POLICIES
  • A company POLICY is anything that you are required to agree to and understand. It may or may not be written. In some cases, it can just be "implied".
  • Policies are known to change without notice. It may be your responsibilty in your company to familiarize yourself with all policies.
  • ANY company can terminate you for a violation of its policies, whether you know about them or not.
  • Most people who are terminated from MLM companies are not aware that they made a violation.
  • A company may keep ALL or PART of your earnings if you violate a policy.
  • "Policies" may be known by other names, such as Policies and Procedures, Terms and Conditions, Distributor Agreement, etc.
  • Some state and federal laws require that you agree to company policies when you join as a representative. You may have signed something when you joined, or (more likely) clicked on something on the internet that says you agreed.
  • The best thing to do is READ and UNDERSTAND everything you agree to, even if it takes several hours... or several days. And ASK QUESTIONS about anything you don't understand.
  • (You may be surprised about some of the company policies you didn't know existed.)
PEOPLE
  • Your best candidates are people who are MLM-friendly. BEFORE THEY JOIN you, they must know what they're getting into and what is expected of them to be successful (Join, buy products, and influence others to do the same thing.) Otherwise they (and you) will have a VERY difficult time in MLM.
  • You need them "ASAP" (As Soon As Possible, As Simply As Possible). The simpler it is for you to explain your business to them, the better. With as few moving parts as possible. "Extra steps" (like meetings, webinars, conference calls, etc.) make the business more difficult.
Signing people up is the exciting part! It's the thrill of starting from nothing and building something huge and successful.

The challenge is talking with most people, who don't understand what's going on.

But the ones who "get it" will work and make a lot of money for you and themselves. However, they will be few and far between because of all the false information circulating around about MLM.

When you truly understand MLM, you see a big picture that most people don't. So the more you talk about that picture, the worse it gets for you, because most people don't want to hear it.

More talking doesn't increase people's understanding--- it only makes them more confused.

There's a lot to learn about MLM, but most of that learning is useless because there's only 5 things that make it work... as described in this article.

So just pay attention to the 5 "P"s, because that's all you and other people need to know.

Everything else is just "data" that won't make you (or other people) successful.

WARNING: Before You Talk To Anyone About MLM, Read THIS!!

IF you're failing in MLM, this might be the reason...

The way most people learn to build the business is to promote, promote, promote. "Be a product of the product". "Be an ambassador for the company".

So every time you see them, their middle name is the product or the company. (I'm not kidding. I see people do this all the time. "Sally 'XYZ Company' Smith", etc.)

It's on their clothes. It's on their car. They're always smiling and handing out samples or business cards. They're all over the internet telling anybody and everybody about their company or product... whether they want to hear about it or not.

Trouble is, most people don't want to hear it. But the culture of MLM has turned us into exactly what we don't want to be, which is a hypey salesperson. Most people don't like hype, and they don't want salespeople. So you talk to 100 people and 90 say "no", because they don't want to hear it.

So here's the truth: Unless people ask you what company you're with or what the product is, they don't want to hear it. And when you tell them before they ask, they think you're a hypey salesperson. And people automatically say "no" to hypey salespeople all the time.

Wouldn't it be better if people said "Yes" to your product? To your company? To your "business opportunity"? To YOU?

It's easy. DO NOT be a cheerleader for your company or product, because nobody cares.

But there are millions of people all over the world who fail in MLM, even though they pray, meditate, set goals, help people, think positively, or smile until their cheeks hurt. Because they lack ONE THING that would instantly stop their failure and frustration. Do you know what it is?

You need influence. Influence is what makes people join your company, buy your products, and influence others to do it too. No influence = no business, no matter how great the product is. And the best business in the world is worthless without people buying its products. Just ask anyone who went out of business because of a lack of sales.

So if you're not building your business, you don't have enough influence. And if you don't have enough influence, better get some QUICK.
